Gladstone supports Chicago fund-raiserKane County Chronicle June 4, 2005 Shaw News Service Naperville-based homebuilder Gladstone Homes raised nearly $3,500 for Cure Autism Now Foundation's Chicago WALK NOW event at Soldier Field. Gladstone was among the sponsors of The Bonnie McGrath Buddies walking team, which with Gladstone's support, surpassed its $4,000 fund-raising goal by more than 50 percent. Gladstone's support of the event was spurred by its purchasing agent, Lara Beckett, an active member of the foundation whose son, Noah, was diagnosed with autism in 2003. This is the second year Chicago has hosted WALK NOW. Last year, Gladstone Homes contributed nearly $3,000 generated through employee and contractor donations and by sponsoring employees in the event. This year, Gladstone expanded its outreach to home-buying customers, requesting and matching contributions. "As a family owned company in the business of serving customers and their families, supporting Lara's efforts aligns with our company values," said Gladstone Founder and President Dave Bolger. "Our people are the heart and soul of Gladstone Homes, and it is important for us to contribute to causes that affect them and their families," said Greg Bolger, Dave's brother and business partner. A supporter of its communities and employees, earlier this year Gladstone Homes contributed more than $9,300 to Plainfield Central Elementary School's Tsunami relief effort, bringing the school's total contribution to $10,000. Founded in 1989, Gladstone Homes offers 12 single-family and four town house floor plans. It is currently developing homes in seven Chicagoland communities: Thornberry Woods of Woodridge, Heritage Oaks of Plainfield, Woodland Meadows of Gilberts, Moose Lake Estates of North Aurora, Water's Edge of Plainfield, Windemere at Grande Park in Plainfield and Eaglecrest at Grande Reserve in Yorkville.
