Couple finds perfect plan in Plainfield

When Kay Miller and Sean Seaberg decided to combine their two households into one, they wanted an open, flowing floor plan and enough space for two home offices.

Each leaving behind a town house, hers in Naperville and his in Plainfield, they were looking for a good-sized home, perhaps as large as 3,000 square feet, but surprised even themselves when they chose the 3,848 square-foot Wildstone from Gladstone Homes.

"We visited more than 40 homes in a couple of months, but when we saw the Wildstone, we both loved it immediately," Sean said.

Known for open floor plans and attractive architectural touches, Gladstone's 12 single-family floor plans each feature four bedrooms, a first-floor study and a fireplace.

The Wildstone, one of Gladstone's most popular plans, combines contemporary and traditional styling. An open atmosphere is achieved in the family room with its two-story ceiling and panoramic window styling visible from the living room, dining room, kitchen, dinette and family room.

There also is a study with a closet, which will serve as Sean's office, a generous laundry room, a powder room which Kay and Sean opted to convert to a full bath, and a three-car garage.

Upstairs, the large master bedroom has a luxury bath, and double walk-in and linen closets. A hall bath and a linen closet complete the second floor.

"The two-sided fireplace, open kitchen and big breakfast bar are some of my favorite features," Kay said.

Having selected the Wildstone, Kay and Sean next had to decide in which Gladstone community they would live. The couple chose Heritage Oaks of Plainfield, a few blocks from Sean's current town house.

"We were set on the Wildstone and decided to build at Heritage Oaks because of the land value," Kay said. "It's more affordable to build in a growing community such as Plainfield."

In addition to its single-family plans, Gladstone offers four town house plans at Heritage Oaks.
